Glen Waverley Uniting Church Congregational Outreach Mission 2007

The Vine bearing fruit

Following our wonderful Anniversary worship the questions we ask ourselves are:

Calling for submissions!

The Congregational Outreach Project committee is now calling for submissions from you about worthy projects to support using the proceeds of the 2007 Fete. These projects should be focused on needs outside our own Congregation. Hopefully, many submissions will be received!

To clarify the process of drawing up a Ňshort listÓ of projects to recommend to the Congregation the committee has established the following criteria:

1 We emphasize that the work supported by the allocated funds is a response to ChristŐs commission to his Church. Our focus should be to follow the example of Jesus to lift the hope of some of the poorer peoples of our world.

2      We should support projects beyond our own Congregation but within the spirit of the UCA mission.

3      We should ensure that any project adopted is

á       openly accountable to the public

á       viable

á       managed by trustworthy people

á       meets appropriate legal requirements

4      Our preference is to support ministries in which we as a Congregation have some personal contact through our members who are engaged in them. In this way we can be kept informed about and involved in their work.

Submissions should be lodged at the Church Office by Friday, August 10. They may be written or emailed to office@gwuc.org.au addressed to the convenor of the Congregational Outreach Mission committee.

To help us gain a clear picture of the work you are advocating please include the following

In early September a Ňshort listÓ will be put to a meeting of the Congregation for discussion and final decisions.

We are keen to hear your feedback and to and to talk to you. Please contact us if you would like to.
