Glen Waverley Congregation

SHARING OUR PASSION

" Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road " Luke 24 : 32

The Challenge

We believe that our vision for our Church in Glen Waverley is embodied in the developments of the last few years and in our Future Directions paper, prayerfully prepared by Councillors, Elders and others, to guide us in the next few years. There are two main emphases.

Firstly, our future Ministry needs you and all the gifts and resources that you can give. These include yourself and your personal talents and strengths, your time and effort in the many tasks and duties that need to be fulfilled. Will you answer God's call?

Secondly, and just as importantly, will be your regular financial contributions. Our current expenditure on Ministry, outreach and maintenance is now greater than our income. Financial reserves have been called upon to achieve the recent expansion in Ministry but they will soon be exhausted.

To maintain our existing levels of Ministry will require an additional $50,000 per year. In faith, the congregation has determined to continue to move forward, believing that our people will, individually and collectively, respond with increasing giving. If not, cutbacks will have to occur from 2004 onwards!

Our challenge is twofold:

It is fully realised that this will not be possible for some.

We emphasise then that if our 'In faith, think FIVE' Planned Giving targets could be achieved our present level of Ministry would be secured and we would be able to grow to the Glory of God both locally as a Community and beyond.

As always, ALL responses will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

Do you feel passionate about this?

Your Response

You are urged to respond in a personal way to the Call for your involvement and the offering of your time, talents and money.

You are asked to prayerfully consider all our Planned Giving targets and to respond by either beginning or increasing your regular Giving.

If you have not yet joined our Planned Giving program and would like to consider it, we would ask you to give as meaningfully and as generously as possible.
